Cherry Tree Wind Farm is located near Seymour, Victoria in the area originally inhabited by the Taungurung people. Iberdrola Australia managed the development and construction of the project for the owner’s Atmos Renewables, operating the wind farm and purchasing 100% of the electricity generated for sale into the energy market.
The 57.6 MW Victorian wind farm will comprise 16 Vestas V136 wind turbines and generate enough renewable energy to power approximately 37,000 homes each year.
Cherry Tree Wind Farm Construction
Zenviron’s scope consisted of the design and construction of 5.5km public road upgrades, 10km of access track, wind turbine foundations and a 66KV on site substation and associated MV collector system and an Operation and Maintenance Building for the continuing operations of the wind farm. The wind farm had a sod turning event on 3rd of April 2019, which featured a smoking ceremony and welcome to the country by the Taungurung people.
