Located 11kms north east of Yass, Rye Park Wind Farm will be the largest constructed wind farm in NSW to date.

Rye Park Wind Farm will consist of 66 turbines, with a maximum generating capacity of 396MW, and will produce enough clean energy to power 215,000 homes to reduce carbon emissions by around 960,000 tonnes per year.

The Project is being developed by Tilt Renewables – part of leading Australian-owned renewable energy consortium, Powering Australian Renewables (PowAR) – an owner, operator and developer of renewable energy and storage projects in Australia and now the largest owner of wind and solar generation in Australia – and the largest renewable energy generator after Snowy Hydro.

Rye Park Wind Farm Construction

Zenviron has been directly contracted by Tilt Renewables to carry out the Design and Construct of the Civil and Electrical Balance of Plant works.

Positioned on a long ridgeline running north-south at right angles to the prevailing wind direction, it spans the Hilltops, Upper Lachlan and Yass Valley local government areas and provides a reliable source of wind.

The project includes an extensive scope of two 330/33kV Substations, 28km of 330kV Transmission Line, 8km of 33kV overhead line and over 90km of underground cabling. The difficult terrain will require over 1.5million cubic metres of cut and fill bulk earthworks to construct 80km of access track and the crane hardstands and crane assist pads.

Rye Park Wind Farm in NSW will create 250 jobs during the construction period, providing significant economic stimulus to the local community and is expected to be completed in Q1 2024.
